Marie Curie was a chemist and Polish-born French physicist who until now were the only people who ever get the Nobel Prize in two different fields, namely physics and chemistry. His invention makes Marie Curie in the field of radioactivity into the list of influential inventors to the world. Marie Curie was the first woman Nobel Prize winner and also was the first woman to become professor at the university, Universities of Paris. Although the French nationality, Marie Curie has never lost a sense of pride as the Poles. His first discovery of chemical elements found in 1898 was named "polonium" and the subsequent discovery is radium a few months later. Radium is a radioactive substance that is widely used in the medical field and medicine, mostly to eliminate cancer by shining on the cancer cells with the radioactive substance.
Marie was born in Warsaw, Poland with the name of Maria Sklodowska. Parents Marie Curie worked as a teacher, and his name (nickname Marie Curie) at the age of 16 years has gained the gold medal during the second graduating (high school), then, her parents almost lost all his property because of a loss when investing. Name was eventually worked as an assistant teacher to help support their families. At that time, women in Poland (which is still under Russian domination that time) were not able to get a higher education, so after graduating from school, his name could not continue school to university. At the age of 18 years, Marie worked as a tutor for a wealthy family. Most of his income as a tutor and then given to the older sister to help her brother in France the cost of education. After his sister who went to school in French medical schools, graduate, earned a doctor, his name and then go move to France in 1891. He then entered the Sorbonne university (now the Universities of Paris) and majored in physics and mathematics. His name or Marie Curie eventually graduated as best student in his class.

Last name Marie (Curie) acquired during marriage with Pierre Curie who was also a chemist. Marie Curie has two daughters, Irène and Eve, who was born in 1897 and 1904. Irène who continue and develop the work of his mother also get nobel prize in chemistry.

The work and research of Marie Curie made the chemists and physicists understand how to gather sources that contain radioactive material to cure disease as well as for research purposes that is more in the radioactive substances.
